Optimize your frame and sill construction - together with Fiberline

Fiberline will be pleased to help you optimize your window’s frame and sill construction, and thereby significantly improve the window’s overall energy efficiency.

The window industry faces major challenges in the years ahead. Plans to reduce CO2 emission will mean tougher requirements in national building regulations – including heightened demands on window construction.

In Germany, the new energy conservation scheme EnEV 2009 introduced on 1 October 2009 has limited the U-value for windows to max. 1.3 W/m2K. A window that has a frame and sill construction with a U-value of around 2.0 W/m2K must therefore typically employ glass with a U-value of 0.7 W/m2K. This is an expensive and not particularly realistic solution.

Optimization of windows, or development of entirely new window systems, has also become far more complex than previously. Focus is no longer limited to the U-value for the frame and sill construction; condensation and surface temperature around the window glass, tightness, ventilation and not least energy efficiency are new focus areas for window performance.

Fiberline Composites has many years’ experience in development and support for the window industry and partners several of the most innovative European manufacturers of windows and facades.
