There are no special health and safety requirements governing the machining of Fiberline profiles.
Dust produced in the course of machining is not considered hazardous to health.
Under Danish health and safety regulations (Source: Section C.0.1: Limit Levels for Substances and Materials, 2007) the permitted level of airborne dust from machining of GRP is 3 mg/m3, or 50% higher than for wood machining.
The dust may cause itching in persons with particularly sensitive skin. It may also cause breathing irritation and a temporary rash.
These problems can be avoided by removing the dust directly at source by means of local extraction and venting arrangements. Handcream and gloves should also be used.
