Development and innovation at Fiberline
Ever since it began in 1979, Fiberline has focused on technical innovation which has led to the development of state-of-the-art tools, processes and products.
The development department collects and distributes knowledge on composites and their applications and properties. The department also develops and optimizes the pultrusion process that is used by Fiberline.
In our extensive research and development programme, we work with a number of universities and technical colleges in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Austria and Switzerland on developing materials, new production methods and applications for plastic-based composites.
This enables Fiberline to offer its customers knowledge partnership, providing not only materials, but also assisting in development processes by supplying calculations and analyses or other consulting services.
The department employs highly-educated personnel in composites mechanics and polymer chemistry, as well as experienced technical personnel who have deep knowledge of the pultrusion process.
Fiberline has participated in numerous development projects, the most recent of which was the ASSET project which concluded on 29 October 2002 with the opening of Europe's first GRP road bridge for motor traffic, West Mill Bridge in Oxfordshire.
