Profiles made of glass fibre reinforced plastics are non-hazardous products in themselves and no special measures of protection or safety are needed when machining FRP products.
The allowed level of dust in the air from maching FRP is 3 mg/m3 – or 50% higher than wood. The grinding or cutting dust is not considered dangerous to health due to the size and form of the individual particles.
However, dust levels from machining glass fibre reinforced profiles should be kept as low as possible, as the dust can cause itching and breathing irritations. It can also cause temporary rash to sensitive skin. Ordinary ventilation and use of a protective cream can prevent these inconveniences.

Fibreglass-reinforced plastics are a state-of-the-art construction material that is an alternative to traditional materials such as concrete, steel and wood.
Fibreglass-reinforced plastic is a highly efficient thermal insulator. Thus Fiberline profiles combine a number of qualities that are advantageous in situations requiring thermal insulation.
