Fibreglass-reinforced plastics are first and foremost light in weight, strong and corrosion resistant. Fiberline profiles offer additional material-technical properties that can be used to advantage in the following areas:
bus and train panels
lateral underrun protection guards for lorries
alternative energy
laminated springs
paper-making machinery
protection and fencing
Low weight
The low weight of plastic-based composites is a major advantage in comparison to materials such as steel and aluminium.
Low weight combined with long service life and minimal maintenance ensures low operating costs.
High strength
Fibreglass-reinforced plastics are very strong, rigid material.
Fatigue properties
Pultruded profiles with a high fibreglass content have good fatigue properties and are used in applications such as laminated springs and the wings of wind turbines.
Corrosion and weather resistance
Fiberline profiles resist UV rays, salt water and chemicals.
High impact strength
The strength and rigidity of Fiberline profiles allows major deformation without fractures, making the profiles suitable for fracture-prone structures such as the fronts and sides of buses and coaches, trains, and other modes of transport.
Surface finish
Fiberline profiles have a smooth, uniform and level surface, making them appropriate for purposes that make particular demands to a surface, for example, in the transport sector.
The smooth surface can be lacquered due to special additives which generate a chemical bond between the surface and the lacquer.
Noise and vibration absorption
Fiberline profiles ensure low noise levels during the machining phase, and also absorb noise and vibrations during transport.
Design options
Profiles can be designed to customer specifications. See design options.
Machining
Composite materials machine easily and quickly, and we also join, assemble and finish surfaces. Our five-axis CNC machining centre can also machine curved profiles in long lengths. Ask for machining guidelines or have us do the machining for you.

Testing and control checks
Fiberline is equipped to test impact strengths of materials, ultimate limit states, E-moduli and pull-out resistance. We also do colour and lustre measurement.
