Fibreglass-reinforced profiles have very low heat-conduction properties, which are stated as the lambda value (λ). The low lambda value ensures efficient insulation in conditions with major differences in temperature, making Fiberline profiles excellent for breaking heat bridges.
Insulation properties
With Fiberline profiles, it is possible to achieve strength corresponding to that of steel and have considerably better insulation properties at the same time.
λstål = 35 w/mK
λglasfiber = 0.2 w/mK
This means that, in the same structure, it is possible to reduce energy consumption by merely replacing steel with Fiberline products.
Strength - rigidity - low weight
Combined with their thermal properties, the mechanical properties of fibreglass profiles – strength, rigidity and low weight – can be used to advantage for:
Facades - for large window panes with very slim frames
Windows – to strengthen window frames and increase screw pull-out strength
Door steps – to ensure high wear resistance combined with large stiffness
Low thermal expansion coefficient
A low expansion coefficient enables Fiberline profiles to work well with other materials. This is advantageous in structures that are subjected to major temperature changes such as:
Building façades
Cooling and refrigeration rooms
Thermal durability
Fibreglass-reinforced plastic profiles in ISO polyester or vinyl ester retain their thermal and mechanical properties from -100?C to + 180?C, while using a phenol matrix enables profiles to withstand even higher temperatures. This makes Fiberline profiles ideal for structures in which thermal durability is imperative, such as:
industrial ovens
fire doors and fire walls
cold storage and freezer units
cold storage and freezer containers.
Design according to needs
Our production processes enable us to utilize the properties of fibreglass composites to the maximum. In cooperation with the customer, we design the geometry of the profile and develop the combination of materials that provides the optimal solution.
Strengthening profile with high insulation property
By replacing traditional steel reinforcement profiles with Fiberline reinforcement profiles less insulation air reservoirs are nessesary. At the same time an approx. 200 times greater insulation value is achieved.
