EN 13706 is a European standard valid for pultruded profiles for construction purposes which are defined according to the standard as "where the load-bearing characteristic is the major criterion of design and where the product is part of a load-bearing system".
The standard specifies the minimum requirements for the quality and tolerances, as well as the strength and stiffness ratios of structural profiles.
Basically, the standard divides pultruded structural profiles into two classes:
E23 - with the most stringent requirements to quality
E17 - with more lenient requirements to quality.
E23 is the minimum requirement for Fiberline structural profiles.
In general, the standard has three parts:
Part 1 specifies the designation/labelling/marking of structural profiles with regard to selection of materials, selection of reinforcement, surface treatment, etc.
Part 2 indicates testing methods, as well as tolerances for pultruded structural profiles. Guidelines for quality and quality assurance are also indicated.
Part 3 indicates minimum values for the technical properties of structural profiles in relation to the two classes of the standard.

Work is in progress to expand the standard to include guidelines for the chemical durability and fire-technical properties of structural profiles.
