Fiberline Composites built Scandinavia’s first GRP bridge - in Kolding, Denmark - back in 1997. The 40-metre bridge crosses one of Denmark’s busiest railway lines.

The Kolding bridge was one of the largest GRP bridges in the world, and the first to cross a railway. Safety and speed of installation were therefore priority considerations.

Installation took place at night to avoid disrupting daytime rail services.

Except for removal of graffiti and algae the bridge has needed no maintenance since 1997.
